check for blown off shingle,
water damage to ceilings,
or raised shingle, or if your
shingle looks like it is
crumbling, it is time to
replace it.
check for cracks, leaking,
breaking, or exposed areas.
check for air drafts, water
leaking, loose or un-even
windows when open.make
sure they are caulked
properly and that the siding
around windows is caulked
properly.
check your gutters are clean
and that the siding, gutters
or downspouts, or any ext.
parts of the home are not
loose.(don't let water in!).
check for leaking pipes
drips, mold, bad smells
rotted wood near pipes
or drains.
i can't say it enough,
insulation is not only in your walls and ceilings, but you
will all so need air tite
barriers around windows,
doors,skylights,pipe venting, electric outlets,
dryer vents, and yes
basements. i see alot of
improperly insulated basements.
check and make sure your duct work is properly ran & vents are
not clooged, and filters
are changed. don't leave
lights on or appliances
that do not have to be used, or seasonal.
* IF YOUR NOT SURE,
